Seven Pines Pitch
Every club dreams of owning its own land. Flexible scheduling, the ability to host events, a place to call your own, a revenue generator, the advantages for a club that owns its pitch are limitless.
Purchased in 1988, 514 Whiteside Road in Sandston is the location for our club's opportunity to realize this goal. Over the years the Richmond Rugby Foundation and the Richmond Lion's have worked to pay for, develop and zone the grounds for the eventual use as a Rugby pitch. In March of 2006 the Lion's first saw this goal become a reality.
Currently, the land is being further developed and we have goal posts already erected and installed. There is plenty of work left to do and the Foundation is relying on donations of time, expertise and money to continue the march towards a premier Rugby facility.
The Lions have scheduled several matches at the Seven Pines pitch this spring. During the spring season the club will do its best to earn some revenue from the field. Whether this involves concessions at games, renting the field out for use to other groups or hosting events, we are sure it will require volunteer time and hard work from everyone in our organization.
Seven Pines Sponsorship Opportunity
Do you or your company want to help us raise revenue for the ongoing development of Seven Pines while advertising your business to the community and a captive audience? We're selling advertising banners for the field and the cost is a meager $250.00. All proceeds go to support the Foundation, and as a 501 C-3 organization you'll be able to write this off as a donation or advertising expense. We've already sold 3 banners which is a good start. If you're interested, please let a Lion's Executive Board member know and they'll get you plugged into the proper channels.
If you have any ideas or a desire to chip in, please contact Pete Sweet or any member of the Lion's Executive Board. Go to the Richmond Rugby Foundation's website to learn more.
