Overview
We are a Premier Men's Club member of The Virginia Rugby Union and we compete for honors in Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union (MARFU) - Division II.
The Richmond Lions proudly hosts three rugby sides (A, B, and Old Boys). The A side includes the top players in the club at their positions. The B side is for the development of the newer players and vetern players adjusting to new positions. The Old Boys, aka the Virginia Gentlemen, consist of the older (over 35) members of the club who never lose their passion for the game.
Fall Season
Fall is our competitive season. We play all of the local Division II clubs in our area according to a schedule that is set by the governing union (MARFU). The top finishing teams during this season will advance to the playoffs in the Spring.
Spring Season
Spring includes the post-season for the teams that qualify to play in a national playoff system, and an open season to schedule your own matches. The schedules are more social, but the matches are no less intense. Most tournaments take place during this time and it is also a great period to take the team on tour.
